Personally I don't really care who judges a particular show. I attend more to learn, but more importantly to have fun. I really don't care about CC's, rosettes, trophies, etc. While its nice to receive them, its not that important to me.
But as Ben mentioned, some won't show under certain judges either because....they don't like the persons style of judging, or feel the judge may be biased, or feel the judge doesn't know the breed they intend on showing, or they just plain don't like the judge for whatever reason.
Considering the North Island Nationals are just over 3 months away, I truely believe we should know who the judge is, or at least who is penciled in at this stage.

Well, just to add my 5 cents worth, I mainly go to the shows, because I want to promote my Breed, I want them out there for people to see and hoping to get more Breeders on board.
Second is that I enjoy being stuck for the day in a hall with other rabbit nuts people and I can talk bunny all day without being yawned at. Its fun. And if I win a prize, thats a nice bonus. :-)

lol kerstin lol, i know what you mean , its great to be able to talk with others that are as crasy about bunnies as you are ( or atleast half as crasy ) and that dont mind talking about them , also that know what its like to have more then two bunnies, lol , i have people up here who think i have completely lost the plot as i have more then three rabbits and boy they get a heart attack when i tell them that others have more then me lol

i love the show days as i love seeing those fluffy bunnies and marvel at the determination and commitment people put into them , i am learning it with my fluffies but they are easier care then your kerstin and i tip my hat at you and other angora breeders and i love seeing all your cuddly bunnies on the table its nice

every little critter deserves a loving home

Well, I dont care who the NI Nat judge is....I'm just excited about getting a chance to come up to Hamilton & have a good time, meet more bunny mad people & maybe learn some new stuff :-)
But I must say it would be nice to show under some-one new.

Cheers......

i,m thick skinned enough to put my 2 cents worth in . i have not been in this hobby long enough to comment to much on what ben says about judges ,so far i have only met two , and to me they seemed to be impartial and very fair . apart from that if you dont have confidence in the judges that are around , have a go yourself or report your concerns to the national body . if you really believe what you have said , it doesnt say much for the prizes that those who go to the show,s reguardless of who,s judging have won . vivelly i agree whole heartidly with your comments , gongs (prizes) are just a bonus .

Well for what it is worth, I to go to shows for the pure fun of the day, and the showing off of the rabbits. Also we do learn so much and can help at the show. As Bran and Vivelly say, winning is a bonus, be it a very pleasant one, and ice's the cake very nicely.
